This is a personal blog and portfolio website operated by Arun Pillai. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit arunppillai.com and how it is used.
What this site is
arunppillai.com is a personal website and blog. It contains articles, essays, and commentary on enterprise software, artificial intelligence, and technology adoption. It is not affiliated with any employer, client, or commercial entity.
Information collected
This site collects minimal, anonymous data to understand how content is being read:
- Page views — which pages are visited and in what order.
- Session duration — how long a visit lasts.
- Referrer — where a visitor came from (e.g. LinkedIn, Google).
- Device and browser type — general device category (mobile/desktop) and browser.
- General location — country and region, derived from IP address. IP addresses themselves are not stored.
No personally identifiable information is collected. No account registration is required. No cookies are used for tracking or advertising.
AI chat
This site includes an optional AI assistant. If you use it, the questions you type are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Questions may be logged anonymously to help improve the assistant's context. Do not share sensitive or personal information in the chat.
Analytics
This site uses Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not track users across sites. Data is aggregated and anonymous.
Third-party services
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure. Vercel may log standard server access data (IP address, request path, timestamp) as part of normal operations.
- Anthropic — AI model provider for the chat feature.
- Google Fonts — typefaces loaded from Google's CDN.
Data retention
Anonymous session data is retained for a limited period to understand trends and is not shared with or sold to any third party.
Your rights
Because no personally identifiable information is collected, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have any questions or concerns, you can reach out via LinkedIn.
